Hallmarking

Please note a '925' stamp is NOT a hallmark nor does it guarantee the item is 925 sterling silver. Anybody can buy this stamp online, it is quite popular among imported goods which are not 925 silver. My items are not 925 stamped but can be on request if that is something that is important to you. 

The following is taken from the Gov.uk website in regards to hallmarking. 

WHICH ITEMS MADE OF PRECIOUS METAL NEED TO BE HALLMARKED

If a precious metal item weighs less than a certain amount it is not compulsory to apply a hallmark. The minimum weight thresholds are:

• gold 1 gram

• silver 7.78 grams

• platinum 0.5 gram

• palladium 1 gram

To be able to sell my items at a reasonable price you will find that almost all of my items are under the specified weights above and are therefore not hallmarked. This does mean that if you plan to sell the item in the future it may devalue it, therefore if you do want your item hallmarked please get in touch and I can discuss additional time needed and costs involved for this. All items over the weights will be hallmarked.
